چکیده

We provide a taxonomy of dynamical supersymmetry breaking theories, and discuss the cosmological implications of the various types of models. Models in which supersymmetry breaking is produced by chiral superfields which only have interactions of gravitational strength (e.g. string theory moduli) are inconsistent with standard big bang nucleosynthesis unless the gravitino mass is greater than O(3)× 10 GeV. This problem cannot be solved by inflation. Models in which supersymmetry is dynamically broken by renormalizable interactions in flat space have no such cosmological problems. Supersymmetry can be broken either in a hidden or the visible sector. However hidden sector models suffer from several naturalness problems and have difficulties in producing an acceptably large gluino mass. hep-ph@xxx/9308292, UCSD/PTH 93-26, RU-37 July 1993 ∗ This work is supported in part by funds provided by the U. D ec 1 99 8 The wave function of the universe and spontaneaus breaking of supersymmetry

In this work we define a scalar product " weighted " with the scalar factor R and show how to find a normalized wave function for the supersymmetric quantum FRW cosmological model using the idea of supersymmetry breaking selection rules under local n=2 conformal supersymmetry. We also calculate the expectation value of the scalar factor R in this model and its corresponding behaviour.

Four-dimensional string theories predict in general the existence of light exotic particles with fractional electric charges. Such particles could escape present observations if they are confined by a gauge group of the " hidden " sector into integrally charged states. It is conceivable that the same gauge group is also responsible for dynamical supersymmetry breaking, via gaugino and scalar co...

The class of relativistic spin particle models reveals the ‘quantization’ of parameters already at the classical level. The special parameter values emerge if one requires the maximality of classical global continuous symmetries. The same requirement applied to a non-relativistic particle with odd degrees of freedom gives rise to supersymmetric quantum mechanics. Coupling classical non-relativi...

Recent developments in string inspired models of inflation suggest that D-strings are formed at the end of inflation. Within the supergravity model of D-strings there are 2(n−1) chiral fermion zero modes for a D-string of winding n. Using the bounds on the relic vorton density, we show that D-strings with winding number n > 1 are more strongly constrained than cosmic strings arising in cosmolog...

QCD-like hidden sector models of supersymmetry breaking are considered which do not suffer from a cosmological problem due to the Polonyi field. Avoidance of a light gluino leads to introduction of quasi-symmetry – symmetry broken explicitly only through gravitational effects. ⋆ JSPS Research Fellow.
